EDWARDSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

The Edwardsville Care Closet is looking for your support! If you are a student at EHS, you can support our mission by joining our club. We meet bi-weekly on Fridays, in Mrs. Kloster's room (A246). We work to provide local homeless shelters with meals for the upcoming weekend and aim to make 100 bagged lunches. We also frequently partner with I Support The Girls, a worldwide non-profit focusing on period poverty. Meet our officers below!

President
Veda Kommineni

I’m Veda Kommineni, current president and founder of the Edwardsville Care Closet. I started the Care Closet when I was in middle school, and I’ve been lucky to be a part of it since then. I’ve been working with an amazing, recurrent group of around 80 kids. We plan and organize events to serve our community and work hand in hand with several local non-profits. I started this organization because I care first and foremost about education and security, and I don’t think anything should come in the way of that. I believe people should always have access to basic food, clothing, and hygiene products.

Colin Walsh

I'm Colin Walsh, currently serving as Vice President of the Edwardsville Care Closet. Alongside my active involvement in Student Council, Spanish Club, and the Prom Committee, I also dedicate time as a lifeguard at the YMCA and I enjoy swimming. Volunteering in Edwardsville holds great importance to me, and being part of the Care Closet allows me to extend that commitment further. I'm honored to lead initiatives that positively impact our town, and work to make a positive impact in the community we live in.

Sophia Carruthers

My name is Sophia Carruthers. I am the Vice President of Edwardsville Care Closet. I am also involved in the Tennis Team, the Lacrosse Team, Spanish Club, Spanish Honors Society, and more. I joined the Edwardsville Care Closet because I believe that no student should have to struggle to get the bare necessities such as hygiene products and clothing items. I also love doing the Volunteer Work Edwardsville Care Closet does to help the community.
